Once the Pre-open order entry closes the pre-open order matching starts immediately and closes at 09:15 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Category II of stock market timings &#8211; Regular trading session<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the regular trading session, markets are open for normal trading between <strong>09:15 AM to 3:30 PM.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Category III of stock market timings &#8211; The closing session<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing session is held between 15.40 hrs and 16.00 hrs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closing price calculations are done in 10 minutes between <strong>3:30 PM to 3:40 PM.<\/strong> Depending on the weighted average of prices between 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, the closing price of a stock is calculated. In the case of indices such as the NSE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equentis.com\/blog\/understanding-nifty-your-key-to-the-indian-stock-market\/\">Nifty<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equentis.com\/blog\/what-is-sensex-the-complete-guide\/\">BSE Sensex<\/a>, the closing prices are calculated based on the weighted average of the constituent stocks between 3:30 PM to 3:40 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The post-close session is conducted for 20 minutes between 3:40 PM to 4:00 PM, where one can place orders to buy or sell at the closing price. NSE has two slots for block deals &#8211; the morning block deal window operates between 08:45 AM to 09:00 AM, and the afternoon block deal window operates between 02:05 PM to 2:20 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Block deals on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) are accepted and carried out only during the initial 35 minutes between 09:15 AM and 9:50 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to note that the pre-open session and the post-close session of stock market timings are available only in the cash segment. There is no such option available in the future &amp; options segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Muhurat trading<\/strong> &nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion of Diwali\/Laxmi Pujan, exchanges conduct a special trading session known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equentis.com\/blog\/muhurat-trading-2022\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.equentis.com\/blog\/muhurat-trading-2022\/\">Muharat Trading<\/a>.
