Yesterday, while IT stocks dragged the market and restricted its upward movement to some extent, today, the same sector pushed the market upward. Apart from IT and media, the oil &amp; gas sector also poured gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equentis.com\/blog\/demystifying-the-nifty-50-a-look-at-indias-top-stocks\/\">Nifty 50<\/a> hit fresh highs today for the third day in a row, nearing the 21000 mark. It went up 3.94%, closing at 420.30 per share. The overall positive sentiment across the domestic market, especially in the IT sector, offered the main push for this stock to rise upward.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LTIM:<\/strong> This IT stock gained <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-highlight-color\"><strong>2.85% <\/strong><\/mark>and closed at 5644, up from its previous close at 5487.65. While the overall rise of the IT sector due to a fall in treasury yields pushed the stock upward, it is also following the Press release, which states that the company has ranked 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in overall customer satisfaction by Whitelane Research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ITC:<\/strong> This FMCG stock gained following a rise in the sector and as petrol prices are declining. The stock gained <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-highlight-color\">2.59%<\/mark><\/strong> during today\u2019s market session and closed at 463.45. The company\u2019s subsequent investors meet schedule had also been announced yesterday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LT:<\/strong> As the overall market surged and election results were in the favour of the present government, most of the core sectors continue to gain today. The stock closed at 4049.75 from its previous day\u2019s close at 4136.50.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cipla: <\/strong>As the pharma sector was a little down today, this pharma stock became the top nifty losers.
